Public Safety has long been a strong focus of Nybo’s service to Elmhurst. Now serving as Vice Chairman of the Public Affairs & Safety Committee, Chris has played a pivotal role in improving pedestrian safety at numerous neighborhood intersections, including working closely with parents to enhance student safety at one of Elmhurst’s local elementary schools (Lincoln) by getting street barriers, traffic signs and painted crosswalks around the school. A former Fire & Police Commissioner, Chris has been a leader in getting police officers and firefighters the tools they need to keep Elmhurst a safe community, including a new fire station and the City’s first pole-mounted radar speed monitoring device to combat neighborhood speeding.
Chris is a lifelong resident of the western suburbs. He graduated from Fenwick High School, Dartmouth College (Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude) and University of Chicago Law School. He has been active with the Ray Graham Association for People With Disabilities and the York Senior Center, and he helps coach his son’s T-ball team. In his legal profession, he assists small and large businesses on employment matters. He currently lives in Elmhurst with his wife Faye and their two children, Connor (4) and Olivia (2). They are members of Immaculate Conception Parish, where Chris has been involved with the transitional housing ministry. The 41st Legislative District consists of portions of Elmhurst, Lombard, Westchester, Villa Park, Oak Brook, LaGrange Park, Oakbrook Terrace, Berkeley, North Riverside, Brookfield, Riverside, Hinsdale, Westmont, Northlake, and Broadview. |
