NYBO DISCONTINUES CHALLEGE DUE TO TIME CONSTRAINTS |

LOMBARD – Although an Illinois State Board of Election records examination did reveal that 60% of the challenged signatures were indeed invalid, State Representative Candidate Chris Nybo today withdrew his objection to the candidacy of Michael Manzo, Chief of Staff to a Cook County Commissioner. Conducting a hearing on the remaining signatures in dispute would consume too much time and too many resources given this year’s truncated election calendar. “Chicago Democrats stymied the election process by legislating an election date falling right after the holidays this year,” Nybo said, “Our time is better spent meeting more voters and talking about how we are going to create jobs in Illinois and work to reduce our staggering unemployment rate.”
