Elmhurst fifth ward Alderman Chris Nybo announced Tuesday that he will run for Illinois State Representative in the 41st district in the next election.

Nybo has filed his financial disclosure form with nearly $78,000 in his campaign funds, which was raised from 167 donors in June.

“Illinois has just experienced an embarrassing decade with scandal and incompetence adversely affecting the taxpayers. I pledge to give the people of Illinois, and especially the 41st District, the good government they expect and deserve,” Nybo said.
